Message From Bishop Crosby

Bishop Douglas Crosby, OMI, DD – Diocese of Hamilton

January 2024

Dear Friends,

Cursillo is a weekend experience often described as a “short course” on the Christian life: a community retreat-like experience that begins on a Thursday evening and ends on a Sunday evening – a time to listen to presentations on a variety of topics, to discuss what you have heard with a table of other participants, to pray quietly and communally. It is an opportunity to deepen your faith, and find supports to nurture it following the weekend. I strongly support the experience and encourage you to consider making a Cursillo.

I also encourage Priests of the Diocese to make a Cursillo. It is an opportunity to hear committed leaders talk about their faith and its practical effects in their lives. The talks are often profoundly moving because they touch the heart, the mind, the soul! Priests will want to encourage parishioners to make a Cursillo because they will bring a new energy to parish life. The leaders of the Cursillo Movement in the Diocese of Hamilton are dedicated and enthusiastic about the benefits of the experience – and the follow-up. Consider doing something to increase your faith this year.

Sincerely in Christ and Mary Immaculate,

+ Douglas Crosby, OMI, DD – (Most Rev)
